2013 Fantasy Football Playoff Pool (Hold Em)
This fantasy football system
is designed to extend the fantasy season, thereby giving the football fanatic
another reason to watch all of the playoff games. The advantage of this format is the lack of a
"draft night” although this takes away from a three-hour party; it allows
everyone a chance to compete without worrying about when everyone can
meet. The format of this game allows for
an unlimited number of participants, so pass these rules along to anyone that
might be interested.
Website
This
year, I will continue to use this website: http://PlayoffFFPool.Tripod.com Let me know if you
have any suggestions for improvements.
With my limited website building skills, I will try to accommodate. I will use this site for lineup entry,
scoring updates, and all other communications.
Roster
To
play, simply submit a lineup before the playoffs begin. The lineup must consist of 12 players (2 QB,
3 RB, 4 WR, 1 K, and 2 DEF). The catch
is that each lineup must have one and only one player from each of the 12
playoff teams. The lineup will then be
used throughout the playoffs, with each team losing a player when a team is eliminated
from the real playoffs.
In addition to the original lineup, three extra players from any team will be used for tiebreakers. The three players can play ANY position and can be from the same team. However, the tiebreaker players CANNOT be part of your original starting twelve.
All
starting lineups must be submitted to the Commissioner before the first playoff
game starts (3:30 PM CST Saturday).
Fees and Prize Money
Each team will pay an entry fee of $10. Have your payment in by the end of the first
week to facilitate paying the winners immediately after the Superbowl.
Prize money will be distributed based on the number of
entrants. Generally I try to pay people
who finish within the top 10% of the pool.
I’ll also designate a few additional spots to give those of us that are
farther down in the standings something to cheer about during the Superbowl.
In order to cover postage and other minor costs, I
will again take one free entry.
If there is a tie for one of the prizes, the
cumulative score of the three tiebreaker players will be used to decide a winner. If it is still tied after the extra players,
the prize will be divided equally among those teams.
